Dr Malcolm Persey

Consultant Rheumatologist

MD FRCP

Specialises in

  • General rheumatology
  • Osteoporosis
  • Non-surgical treatment of arthritis and soft-tissue rheumatology
  • Rheumatic disease and pregnancy

My particular interests include non-surgical treatments of a variety of rheumatological problems such as carpal tunnel syndrome, neck and shoulder pain, tennis elbow, and osteoarthritis of the hand and lower limb. I have had extensive experience in general rheumatology, particularly osteoporosis and arthritis/rheumatic diseases in pregnancy, and vasculitis.

I have been a consultant rheumatologist since 2001, based at the Barnet & Chase Farm NHS Trust. I qualified from Oxford University and the Royal Free Hospitals, and my training in general medicine and rheumatology included periods at St Mary's Hospital, Paddington, Central Middlesex, Northwick Park, the Hammersmith Hospital and Postgraduate Medical School, and at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.

For the greater convenience of local patients, I provide a clinic every other Sunday at Spire Bushey with the use of X-ray facilities and the ability to administer joint and soft tissue injections on the day of consultation.
