As a gastroenterology specialist registrar within North West Thames, my first post was at the QEII Hospital in Welwyn Garden City in 1996 followed by three years at St Mark's Hospital in Harrow, tertiary referral centre for inflammatory bowel disease and intestinal failure. Following further training at Charing Cross and Watford Hospitals, I spent a year at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, gaining experience in advanced therapeutic endoscopy and ERCP.
My final training post was at St Mary's Hospital Liver Unit prior to my appointment in May 2003 at the QEII and Lister Hospitals in Hertfordshire. I intend to provide a general gastroenterology service for patients with both upper and lower gastro-intestinal symptoms and liver-related problems. In addition to outpatient clinics, endoscopy lists will be available twice a month.
