Some of the principal treatments carried out by Dr Attam Singh at Spire include:
I am a consultant Anaesthetist and an expert in Pain medicine. I am an multi-award winning Consultant, with awards including the Clinical Excellence Award for showing Care and Compassion in Clinical Practice in 2013 and Health Service Journal Award for Patient Safety in 2014. I am a Consultant in Pain Medicine based at the award winning Hip Fracture Unit in West Hertfordshire NHS Trust, where I have developed a dynamic and cohesive pathway for treating painful broken hips, which is now being replicated across the country.
I have spent spent over 10 years refining the management of common pain conditions as well as the more obscure ailments related to pain. My specialist interests are musculoskeletal disorders and neuropathic pain and I use gold standard radiology controlled methods as well as ultrasound guided procedures to ensure accurate and patient centred treatments.
I specialise in musculoskeletal and neuropathic pain of either single or multiple origin providing a personalised, holistic approach to treat and perform interventional procedures when necessary. I use targeted nerve techniques with ultrasound to promote a prompt and speedy recovery.
My other specialisms also include: • Neck and back pain • Head and face pain • Joint pain • Fibromyalgia • Widespread pain issues, such as CRPS • Pelvic pain
I am an educator and regularly teach trainees and other medical personnel, having presented abstracts and posters at national and international conferences. I am also a keen researcher and has spent time researching new forms of neuromodulation for the long term treatment of neuropathy in London. I was also awarded a prestigious fellowship at the world renowned University of Michigan USA, where I taught and demonstrated my procedural techniques. I am also committed to continuing professional development.
I am a keen advocate for working with overseas populations who would not otherwise have access to the high quality healthcare services. I have organised charitable medical outreach treatment centres in rural India, where with colleagues, have treated over 700 people, who otherwise would not have had access to medical services and treatment.

Dr Singh is currently the Acute Pain Lead at West Hertfordshire NHS trust. This involves weekly ward rounds dealing with the most complex of pain patients and conditions. In conjunction with his role as a Pain Lead, his position as Preoperative Lead lends itself well to careful and appropriate preparation of the most complicated patients for surgery.
