I specialise in Geriatric and Stroke Medicine as well as Acute Medical problems in adults of all ages. I participate in inpatient care for Stroke and General Medicine/Geriatrics and run a busy outpatient Stroke Service. I am available to see patients in the outpatient setting as well as to admit patients with a wide range of general medical problems.
I regularly consult inpatients admitted under other specialists when a medical problem arises. I have significant experience in post-acute rehabilitation, having run rehabilitation wards at Edgware Community and Finchley Memorial Hospitals. I currently provide specialist clinical input to the Stroke rehabilitation unit at Chase Farm Hospital.
I have been a Consultant Physician and Geriatrician at Barnet Hospital since 2005. I am also responsible for the running of the very successful Stroke Unit at Barnet Hospital which has been awarded an A rating in National Assessments.
I have experience in working in both Teaching and District General Hospital and have been an active participant in major clinical trials. I spent two years undertaking clinical research in Los Angeles, USA – gaining particular expertise in sleep disorders in older adults
I have been Head of Department for Geriatrics at Barnet Hospital as well as Clinical Director for Medicine at Barnet Hospital. This has allowed me to gain significant managerial and leadership experience in the NHS and Service development.
