In January 2015 Andrea underwent a total right hip replacement operation at Spire Manchester Hospital. Having never had a procedure in a hospital before, Andrea was extremely nervous in the build up to her operation.

Andrea’s procedure was to be carried out using a spinal anaesthetic, meaning she would be awake during the procedure although she would not feel anything.  Although initially she found this very daunting, Andrea felt the staff really went out of their way to put her at ease, “The whole way to theatre the nurses stayed with me and the anaesthetist talked to me throughout the procedure.”

While talking about her experience at Spire Manchester Hospital, Andrea said,

“Everybody was really nice, I cannot fault it, fantastic service!"

"From admission to discharge, from the lovely Professor Fehily to the cleaning ladies and all in between, I was treated like a princess.

Professor Fehily was really really nice, he had a great sense of humour and was extremely professional. I would like to thank Professor Fehily and his nurses so much for their kindness.”
