I am an Ophthalmic Surgeon with over 10 years experience as a Consultant. My NHS base is at Barts Health where I also hold the role of clinical governance lead for Ophthalmology.

My areas of expertise include vitreoretinal surgery and microincision phacoemulsification cataract surgery including the use of multifocal lens implants and toric lens implants.

I received fellowship training in vitreoretinal surgery at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London and in medical retina at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, at Harvard Medical School in the US. I run a busy retinal practice and manage patients with retinal detachment, macular hole, epiretinal membrane, vitreomacular traction and advanced diabetic eye disease, as well as macular degeneration, retinal vein occlusion and diabetic retinopathy.

I have carried out research in retinal imaging, high myopia, vitreomacular traction and diabetic eye disease and have published widely in the field of retina and presented my research at several national and international meetings.

My other interests include education and training, having been College Tutor and Regional Advisor to the Royal College of Ophthalmologists as well as being an Examiner for the Royal College.
