Spire takes the prize at industry awards

15 June 2015

Spire Healthcare, which Spire Edinburgh Hospitals is part of, was named Hospital Group of the Year for the second year running at the 2015 HealthInvestor Awards.

This prestigious event, run by trade publication, HealthInvestor, is one of the main highlights in the health sector calendar and is always very well attended by many important bodies.  The 2015 competition was fierce with award submissions up by 20% on last year, but despite this, Spire still pipped six other organisations to the top spot.

Spire Edinburgh’s Hospital Director said, ‘We’re delighted to have won the award for Private Hospital Group of the Year at the 2015 HealthInvestor awards.  This is a tremendous accolade and is recognition that we are outperforming our competitors in a wide range of areas. The award recognises the investment in our hospitals and new technologies that benefit patients, in our excellent patient and Consultant satisfaction and in our improving clinical outcomes.  All of which helps us to deliver excellent results now and helps us build for an even better future which is good news for everyone associated with the hospital.

“2014 was a transformational year for Spire Healthcare and a landmark in the company’s history”, says Rob Roger, Chief Executive.

“As well as listing on the London Stock Exchange in one of the most successful IPOs of the year, 2014 saw Spire deliver a strong year in both trading and development, whilst progressing its mission to bring together the best people, dedicated to developing excellent clinical environments and delivering the highest quality patient care.  I am very proud to be leading the people who make Spire so successful”.

Journalist and news presenter, Jeremy Vine, presented the awards, which were judged by a panel of independent judges.
