We are sad to announce that after five successful years treating patients at IVF Scotland, the difficult decision has been taken to close the IVF Scotland Clinic effective from the 28th February 2015. Over the past few years NHS Scotland’s funding for fertility treatment has changed significantly and whilst we’re delighted that more patients are able to access funded treatments via the NHS this does mean that the clinic has seen a reduction in patients since opening. Our aim has always been to provide our patients with the best care possible and to achieve the highest pregnancy success rates in Scotland. However, when numbers of cycles fluctuate, it can be technically challenging to maintain the high standards our patients deserve. As NHS funded patient places continue to increase and waiting times come down, it is inevitable that the Clinic’s numbers will continue to decline and so we have reached the difficult conclusion to close.
All of our patients will receive a letter about the closure with more detailed information about how the closure may affect them. We encourage you to contact us if you have any queries following receipt of this letter.
If you were considering treatment, we regret that we won’t be able to provide this service and wish you every success with your IVF treatment.
The Clinic can be contacted between 8am – 4pm Monday to Friday on 0131 654 5603 / 5604 to discuss any aspect of your care – please leave a message if the line is busy and a member of staff will contact you. We are proud to have helped so many people over the years and we thank you for your support. Alternatively, we can be emailed on firstname.lastname@example.org.
