I am an established consultant surgeon specialising in laparoscopic and colorectal surgery. I enjoy the full range of general surgical procedures providing laparoscopic and open surgery for hernias and coloproctological surgical procedures. My special interests relate to proctology with currently the largest number of patients treated by the new VAAFT procedure in the country.

I have also performed a large number of advancement flaps for chronic fissures which are resistant to treatment. I also perform a large number of haemorrhoidal procedures and have successfully completed my training in the Rafaelo procedure (this haemorrhoidal procedure can be undertaken without anaesthetic).

My other passion is pelvic floor with new innovative management strategies putting the patient first. I am also looking for new innovative treatments for faecal incontinence with one of the first surgeons to use sphinkeeper / gatekeeper in the country. I am also developing new management strategies for chronic constipation with irrigation (antegrade and retrograde) and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Improvement of the quality of life is in the centre of all my treatments.

I am a national trainer for VAAFT, EPSIT and THD procedures and have presented the different techniques in national and international meetings as an invited speaker.
