MD FRCS(Eng)
I am a consultant thoracic surgeon and clinical lead of the thoracic department at University College London Hospitals (UCLH). I completed my specialist training in Milan, Italy, and further developed my expertise at UCLH.
Since joining the thoracic unit at UCLH in 2014, I have played a key role in the development of the department. I have contributed significantly to the field of thoracic surgery, with over 90 scientific articles published and numerous presentations delivered at national and international meetings. I have also authored six book chapters.
Alongside my clinical work, I act as a reviewer for several scientific journals and am a member of a number of professional societies, including the European Society of Thoracic Surgeons (ESTS), European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery (EACTS), Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS), International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASCLC), as well as several interest groups focused on thoracic malignancies.
My main clinical interests include thoracic surgical oncology, pleural diseases and benign lung conditions, and I am experienced in both conventional and minimally invasive surgical techniques.
To date, I have performed more than 2,500 lung and pleural surgical procedures using open and minimally invasive approaches.
