Reduces the size of your stomach and redirects the digestive tract.
At Spire Wellesley Hospital, our highly skilled consultants and expert aftercare team offer gastric bypass surgery to help you lose weight if severe obesity is affecting your health.
During a gastric bypass, your surgeon will reduce the size of your stomach and connect it to the lower part of your small intestine, restricting the calories you can eat and absorb.

We provide comprehensive private hospital care for our patients across Essex and the South East.
You’ll have a choice of bariatric surgeons (consultants specialising in weight loss surgery) who can carry out gastric bypass surgery. This can help to reduce your weight if changing your diet and lifestyle hasn’t worked.
Our bariatric surgeons are supported by a team of dietitians and bariatric nurses who can ensure the treatment and aftercare is tailored to your needs. Your dietitian will offer you dietary support, such as advice and a diet plan.
It's a common operation to have done privately, and our inclusive prices and access to payment plans make it easy and more affordable, even if you don’t have medical insurance.
