Professional profile

I trained in medicine at the London Hospital, Whitechapel, qualifying in 1983. I then undertook general medical positions in London including St Mary's Hospital, before training in Gastroenterology.

I was at the Institute of Liver Studies at Kings College Hospital for more than four years, including research into liver disease (especially Paracetamol liver damage) and primary biliary cholangitis.

I was a Senior Registrar in West London before becoming a Consultant at Southend Hospital in 1994. I have a broad experience in gastroenterology and endoscopy. I also have a sub-specialist interest in liver disease.

Most procedures I perform are colonoscopy or gastroscopy at the Wellesley Hospital.I have performed over 10,000 gastroscopies and 10,000 colonoscopies over a twenty-one year period in the NHS and private practice.

I am an Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer in gastroenterology at Queen Mary College, London.

Dr Bray welcomes appropriate patients wishing to refer and pay for treatment themselves without the need for a GP letter of referral. Please call 01702 447 926 to find out more.
