Consultant Gynaecologist
MD, MRCOG, DFFP
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mrs Pallavi Latthe at Spire include:
I am accredited subspecialist in urogynaecology in Birmingham and am a consultant obstetrician and gynaecologist at the Birmingham Women’s NHS Foundation Trust. I am the clinical lead for urogynaecology and paediatric and adolescent gynaecology at my NHS Trust. I did my clinical research fellowship at the Birmingham Women’s Hospital and University of Birmingham. My research MD thesis (University of Birmingham) was into chronic pelvic pain. I coordinated the well-being of women-sponsored laparoscopic uterosacral nerve ablation. I trained in the UK and India, with travelling fellowships to the Cleveland Clinic, Florida and Nijmegen, Netherlands. During training, I gained experience in all areas of obstetrics and gynaecology. I spent last three years (2005 – 2007) acquiring skills in urogynaecology, reconstructive pelvic surgery and associated medical fields.
In addition to urogynaecology (prolapse, incontinence, recurrent bladder infections, painful bladder) and adolescent gynaecology, I provide high quality services related to general gynaecological problems including menstrual dysfunction, contraception, menopause and pelvic pain. I am research active and am chief investigator on a number of studies.
My consulting and operating charges are within BUPA and AXA monetary limits and I am a registered practitioner with many health insurance companies.
I have published many scientific papers and written two books. I have presented my research both at national and international conferences. I am on the education committee of the International Continence Society and the publication committee of International Urogynecology Association.
