Mrs Maya Harris
Consultant Urological Surgeon
FRCS (Urol), MSc (Trans Med)
"I am attracted to working at Spire as it is the leading provider of private healthcare in UK offering excellent facilities for practice."
I am a urologist with a broad experience of over fifteen years. I specialise in recurrent urinary tract infections, prostate surgery for benign enlargement (UroLift, Green Light Laser, Prostatectomy), prostate cancer diagnosis and treatment of urgency and urge incontinence.
I was appointed to my current post, consultant urologist for Warwick Hospital, in 2013. I am one of a small number of female consultant urologists. Both female and male patients feel at ease with me when discussing problems of most intimate nature.
I was one of the first UK surgeons to undertake the UROLIFT procedure, a first-line treatment that gets men off BPH medications and allows them to avoid major surgery for benign prostatic hyperplasia and I have now carried out one of the highest volumes of the procedure in the Midland region.
I am also experienced in Green Light Laser Prostatectomy. I treat high numbers of patients with recurrent urinary tract conditions and am able to offer a personalised approach to this condition affecting many men and women.
I have performed 25 UROLIFT procedures and over 100 Green Light Laser Prostatectomies.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mrs Maya Harris at Spire include:
