My practice encompasses the breadth of ENT conditions in adults and children with a sub-specialist interest predominantly in otology (the branch of medicine that deals with the study of the ear and its diseases). I manage all types of ear conditions, involving symptoms of hearing loss, pain, discharge, itching and tinnitus (noise from the ears).

I undertake a wide range of specialist ear operations including those for chronic ear disease and complex hearing reconstruction such as stapedectomy for otosclerosis (abnormal bone growth inside the ear) and ossiculoplasty (the surgical restoration of the sound transmitting mechanism of the middle ear). I am also trained to undertake endoscopic ear surgery.

I have had specialist training in balance disorders and dizziness. My general ENT practice covers the management of nasal conditions, problems with snoring and voice disorders. 

I am a Consultant ENT Surgeon at Burton Hospitals NHS Trust, based at Queen's Hospital, Burton but also covering Tamworth and Lichfield hospitals. Prior to this, I was a Consultant at St Helens and Knowsley NHS Trust. I undertook higher specialist training in the South Thames and West Midlands regions and did a sub-specialty otology (ear disorders) fellowship in Manchester. I was also awarded a JLO Travelling fellowship to the renowned Otology Centre in Bezier, France.

I am committed to helping train our future doctors and have held an appointment as a Regional Surgical Advisor to the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. I am also an intercollegiate MRCS examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

My research interests have resulted in the publication of over 20 articles in ENT peer review journals.
