I trained in West Yorkshire before moving to Birmingham. I have also worked as a consultant breast surgeon in Merseyside. I was also breast lead in my previous post.
My main interest is the management of of malignant and benign breast diseases. I also treat abdominal wall hernias.
I have competently performed several hundred major and minor breast procedures such as wide local excision, mastectomy, wire guided needle localization for impalpable cancer, sentinel node biopsy, axillary clearance and mammary duct fistulas surgery. I am experienced in dealing with symptomatic as well as screen detected breast cancers.
To further enrich my knowledge pool I attend numerous national and international conferences and recommended courses. Closer to home I participate in research projects in our unit as Principal Investigator.

I am married to Abia, a general practitioner and have two sons at university. I spend most of my free time with my family. I enjoy swimming, and going to the gym. I like reading books and enjoy listening to music in my spare time. I enjoy watching football and cricket. I also find listening to Urdu poetry and music relaxing.Back to top
