I began my physiotherapy career working in the NHS in Musculoskeletal Out-patients and Trauma and Orthopaedics. This provided exposure to both acute and chronic musculoskeletal conditions, elective day and in-patient procedures such as shoulder surgery and total knee and hip replacements and trauma surgery and A&E. I left the NHS and joined the Physiotherapy Team at Spire Parkway in 2013 and now work a 70:30 split between the in-patient and out-patient departments respectively. My in-patient role sees me assessing patients who are due to receive elective procedures here at Parkway and providing continued care following their procedure. My out-patient role sees me treating a mix of orthopaedic patients but specialising in assessing and treating patients with shoulder conditions. I set up and run a shoulder class for post-operative shoulder patients.
My interests include general physiotherapy, in particular shoulder injuries.
COVID-19 testing or antibody tests are not available as a standalone service at Spire Parkway Hospital.
In my spare time I enjoy walking my two dogs and spending time with my horses. I am a local councillor which other than council issues also involves being a representative for my local GP surgery and I am assisting my local council with the current Health and Well-being Strategy.
