I am a Consultant Oncologist specialising in bowel, pancreatic and liver cancers, as well as cancers that have spread to the liver, lungs, lymph nodes, bones or spine. I have more than 20 years’ experience in cancer medicine and use a range of treatments including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted cancer therapies and advanced radiotherapy techniques such as SABR (stereotactic ablative radiotherapy) and MRI-guided radiotherapy.

My approach is focused on providing clear, supportive and personalised care. I believe it is important that patients fully understand their diagnosis and treatment options, including what each treatment aims to achieve, how treatments may work together and how they may affect day-to-day life. I work closely with surgeons and other cancer specialists to ensure patients receive coordinated, multidisciplinary care.

I have been actively involved in national and international clinical trials throughout my career, allowing me to offer advice on both established and emerging evidence-based treatments. This includes discussing whether additional tumour testing or participation in a clinical trial may be appropriate.

Many patients come to me for second opinions, particularly when treatment decisions are complex, cancer has spread or returned, or when surgery, radiotherapy and drug treatments need careful coordination.

A major focus of my practice is the treatment of bowel and rectal cancer, including cancers that have spread beyond the bowel. I provide advice on chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted treatments, radiotherapy and SABR, as well as genetic testing that may help guide treatment decisions. I also discuss supportive lifestyle measures that may help patients tolerate treatment and maintain quality of life.

I have specialist expertise in SABR and MRI-guided radiotherapy for patients with a limited number of secondary cancer deposits, including cancers that have returned after previous radiotherapy. I support patients from across the UK with a range of cancer types, including breast, prostate, lung, skin and gastrointestinal cancers, where these advanced radiotherapy techniques may be beneficial.

I also have a specialist interest in pancreatic cancer treatment and have pioneered the use of high-dose MRI-guided radiotherapy alongside chemotherapy for patients with pancreatic cancer, including cancers that cannot currently be removed surgically and cancers that have spread to other parts of the body.

In addition, I advise patients with liver and bile duct cancers on how best to combine treatments such as systemic therapy, radiotherapy, surgery, ablation, specialist liver procedures and clinical trials.

Alongside my NHS consultant role at University Hospitals Birmingham, I am Clinical Director for Stereotactic and MRI-guided Radiotherapy at GenesisCare, a leading UK provider of advanced radiotherapy treatments.

My aim is to help patients and their families navigate difficult cancer treatment decisions with clear information, expert guidance and compassionate support throughout their care.
