Specialises in
I am a Consultant Specialist Knee Surgeon and Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Knee Surgery. I am dual fellowship trained undertaking two prestigious fellowships at the Exeter Knee Reconstruction Unit in Exeter and the Sports Knee Fellowship in Derby.
My practice covers all sports knee related conditions including ACL reconstruction, meniscal repair, multligament knee surgery, cartilage restoration procedures as well as knee surgery associated with arthritis including partial and total knee replacement surgery. I have experience working with elite and semi professional athletes and helping them return to sport after knee injury.
I was selected as one of six Bone and Joint Research/British Orthopaedic Research Society Travelling Fellows and visited Orthopaedic International centres of Excellence including Rush (Chicago), St Louis, Texas, Minneapolis, and the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, USA to learn latest innovations and treatments in Knee Surgery.
I am a National Leader in arthritis pain and have won over 30 National and International Awards for my ground breaking knee pain research including the British Association for Surgery of the Knee (BASK) Presidential Gold Medal in 2019 and the prestigious New Investigator Recognition Award (NIRA) from the Orthopaedic Research Society (USA) in New Orleans in 2018. I was also awarded a Fellowship from the prestigious Medical Research Council and currently sit on the British Association for Surgery to the Knee Research Committee, so I am aware of all the latest treatments for knee arthritis pain and sports knee injuries.
Alongside having a busy clinical practice, I am an Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Knee Surgery and conduct a series of trials to improve patients with knee arthritis pain and sports related knee injures.
