Since qualifying as a Sports massage therapist in 2005 after graduating from Liverpool John Moores University with a BSC in Sports Science, I have worked in private practice as well as in elite sport.
I spent a year as the Sports massage therapist for Nottingham Rugby Club before starting to work for the English Institute of Sport, where I spent 15 years. During this time I worked with British Canoeing at Holme Pierrepoint National Water Sports Centre as well as British Swimming and a number of other sports at Loughborough University.
I had the privilege to be part of the British Athletics team at the Beijing 2008 and London 2012 Paralympics, as well as attending the 2010 Delhi Commonwealth Games and London 2012 Olympics with British Swimming. During this time, I have also worked at a number of Swimming World, European and British Championships as part of a multi-disciplinary support team.
I have a particular interest in scarwork and helping people who feel that there scars are a problem to them and am a trained scarwork therapist. I am committed to providing the best possible service to my clients and regularly attend courses to improve my skill set and the services I can offer. As well as sports massage therapy I am trained in myofasical release, manual lymphatic drainage and oncology massage. I am a Level 5 Sports Massage Therapist and a member of the Sports Massage Association.
I have worked at Spire Hospital Nottingham since 2017 working closely with the practitioners in the physiotherapy department. I aim to give my patients a high level service, that suits both them and their individual needs. My training and skillset is varied and I can offer many different types of therapy that is beneficial to all ages. It can help with recovery from injury, general muscle tightness and adhesions, post-surgical scar adhesions, for general relaxation, mental health and general wellbeing.
