Specialises in
I am a Consultant Cardiologist and Honorary Senior Lecturer at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust, and I also practise privately at Spire Nottingham Hospital. I manage the full spectrum of adult cardiology, including chest pain, breathlessness, palpitations, dizziness, blackouts, high blood pressure, coronary artery disease, heart valve disease, cardiomyopathy and heart failure.
My specialist expertise lies in advanced cardiac imaging, including echocardiography, transoesophageal echocardiography (TOE) and cardiac MRI. I hold full EACVI Level 3 accreditation in cardiac MRI and BSE accreditation in transthoracic and transoesophageal echocardiography. Each year, I perform over 400 cardiac MRI scans and more than 400 advanced echo and TOE studies, helping provide accurate diagnoses and tailored treatment plans.
I graduated from Leicester Medical School with First-Class Honours and was awarded the prestigious John MacVicar Prize for excellent academic achievement. I later completed a Master of Research with Honours and a British Heart Foundation-funded PhD investigating lipids and ethnicity in coronary artery disease. I was recognised by Doctify for Excellent Patient Experience in 2026.
I am committed to delivering a streamlined, patient-centred service that combines advanced heart scans with clear communication, compassionate care and evidence-based treatment. Where appropriate, I offer a one-stop clinic service including ECG and echocardiography, helping patients receive timely reassurance and personalised ongoing care.
Teaching and mentorship are central to my practice. As the Undergraduate Lead for Cardiology Training at Leicester Medical School, I deliver regular lectures on valvular heart disease, cardiomyopathy, and heart failure, and support the training of future cardiologists. In 2020, I was honoured to receive the UHL Rising Star Educator Award.
Above all, I prioritise patient-centred care, I take time to listen carefully to my patients and involve them fully in decisions about their treatment. By combining the latest evidence-based practices with advanced imaging and clinical expertise, I strive to deliver the highest standard of personalised care for individuals with cardiovascular disease.
