Professional profile

Having completed MD at the prestigious Chandigarh Institute of Medical Education and Research and worked as Senior Resident at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, I moved to the UK for higher specialist training. I then completed specialist training in Gastroenterology and General Medicine at the South Trent Deanery in Leicester.

I was appointed as Consultant Gastroenterologist at Lincoln County Hospital in 2003 and provide up to date care in Gastrointestinal and liver diseases (except hepatitis B and C infection). I have a special interest in and am the lead clinician for inflammatory bowel disease services.

I undertake all diagnostic and therapeutic upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopies except ERCP and enteroscopy. I am an accredited bowel cancer screening colonoscopist and I perform most therapeutic endoscopic procedures such as polypectomy, dilatation, banding, insertion of oesophageal stents, bleeding haemostasis etc.

I also consults patients with general medical problems. It is my mission to provide a safe, effective and evidence based treatment for all of my patients.

I have published several papers in the Medical and Gastroenterology journals.

I have a love for gardening and keep myself updated with current affairs in the world. I play badminton regularly and have a general interest in many other sports including cricket which I used to play. My wife and I love travelling and enjoy holidays.
