Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr Tim Duncan at Spire include:
I currently work as a Consultant in Gynaecology and Gynaecological Oncology at the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital, and also run an outpatient clinic in Cromer. I am the clinical lead for the investigation and management of postmenopausal bleeding. I practice in general gynaecology and specialise in colposcopy and the investigation and treatment of women with possible gynaecological cancer. My other specialist skills include advanced laparoscopic surgery, outpatient hysteroscopy and colposcopy. I have a keen interest in providing patient choice through clinical innovation, such as laparoscopic (keyhole) hysterectomy.
I trained in general Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Nottingham, following which I completed a three year sub-specialty training programme in Gynaecological Oncology and advanced laparoscopic surgery. This included a research MD in molecular prognostic markers in ovarian cancer.
I offer up-to-date methods for treating common gynaecological problems such as menstrual irregularities including heavy, irregular and post-menopausal bleeding, fibroids and ovarian cysts. Many techniques involve investigation and treatment as an outpatient. Where possible, the use of minimal access surgical techniques enables a more rapid recovery and return to normal activities.
Research interests: Molecular prognostic markers in ovarian cancer, Laparoscopic surgery, Vulval cancer and sentinel lymph node biopsy.
