I am a Consultant Gastroenterologist at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and an Honorary Clinical Lecturer in Gastroenterology at the Norwich Medical School, University of East Anglia. My undergraduate medical training was at the University of Cambridge where I was also awarded my PhD on immune responses to the gastrointestinal pathogen Salmonella. I completed my specialist training in Gastroenterology and General Medicine in the East of England Deanery. During this time I was awarded a four year National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) Clinical Lectureship investigating the role of environmental and dietary factors in the aetiology and relapse of Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis that has lead to numerous research publications and book chapters.
I am interested in all aspects of general gastroenterology and have an extensive experience in treating a wide range of gastroenterological disorders. I have specific interests in the diagnosis and management of inflammatory bowel and colonic diseases. I have further expertises in diagnostic and therapeutic gastroscopy, sigmoidoscopy and colonoscopy including EMR (endoscopic mucosal resections).
Spire Norwich Hospital is only able to provide COVID-19 tests to patients undergoing surgery at our hospital. COVID-19 testing or antibody tests are not available as a standalone service.
