Gallbladder removal: what to expect at Spire Methley Park Hospital

You’ll start the process with a consultation, where it’ll be determined what kind of procedure you need. This will involve either open or keyhole surgery, with the difference being the size of the incision and length of your hospital stay.

On the day, we’ll get you ready in your private room before taking you down to theatre. You’ll be given general anaesthetic while the team operates for a few hours at most. Afterwards, you can expect the nurses to take excellent care of you until you’re ready to leave.
