I am a leading Consultant Hand and Wrist Surgeon at The Spire Manchester Hospital, recognised nationally and internationally for my expertise in treating thumb arthritis, hand and wrist pain, sports injuries, nerve conditions, and complex trauma.

I am one of the UK’s foremost specialists in thumb joint replacement surgery, having personally performed over 100 procedures - one of the highest numbers in the country. I regularly teach other consultants how to perform this advanced operation and sit on the UK Advisory Board for the Touch® thumb joint replacement.

Alongside my private practice, I am Clinical Director for Trauma, Orthopaedics and Plastic Surgery at Salford Royal Major Trauma Centre, where I manage some of the most complex hand and wrist cases referred from across the region.

I trained in both orthopaedic and plastic hand surgery, completing prestigious fellowships in the UK and abroad, including at Harvard University. I hold an exceptional combination of qualifications – the British and European Diplomas in Hand Surgery and the UK’s first Masters in Hand Surgery making me one of only 3 surgeons in the country to hold all three awards.

As an Honorary Senior Lecturer at The University of Manchester, I am actively involved in research, teaching and training the next generation of surgeons. I regularly lead national and international masterclasses, am an examiner for both the British and European hand diplomas and have published widely in peer-reviewed journals and textbooks.

In recognition of my leadership and contribution to advancing standards of care, I have been elected President-Elect of the Federation of European Societies for Surgery of the Hand (FESSH), the largest professional body for hand surgeons in Europe – and the first UK surgeon to hold this role in the organisation’s history.
