I’m a Consultant Colorectal and General Surgeon specialising in haemorrhoids, irritable bowel disease, gallstones, abdominal pain, hernias, and colon and rectal cancer. My main interests include laparoscopic surgery, advanced rectal cancers and endoscopy.
My NHS practice is at Manchester Royal Infirmary, part of Manchester University Foundation Trust, the largest trust in the UK. I completed two post CCT fellowships including a laparoscopic colorectal fellowship in Bradford Royal Infirmary and subsequently an advanced rectal cancer fellowship at the Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm.
I was elected President of the Dukes’ Club and was a member of council of the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland for the duration of this term.
I’m a member of faculty at the Mersey School of Endoscopy for the JAG colonoscopy course. I completed a postgraduate certificate in medical education and teach on MRCS and FRCS preparation courses.
