I am a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in the management of disorders of the knee and hip. My clinical practice includes the treatment of sports injuries, ligament injuries, arthritis and patella instability.
I undertook my medical educational at the University of St. Andrews, University of Manchester and my specialist Orthopaedic training within the North West of England. After completing my training and becoming a Fellow of The Royal College of Surgeons, I undertook two fellowships to further my expertise in the management of knee and hip disorders. The first was at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital where the focus was on joint preservation and the second at Wrightington Hospital where the focus was on joint replacement.
Some of the principal treatments carried out by Mr James Childs at Spire include:

I spend most of my time outside of work with my wife and children. We like to keep active and are regularly out exploring in the countryside with our cocker spaniel, friends and family or, on a rainy day at the local climbing wall or swimming pool.
I am a keen sportsman and when time allows, I enjoy playing golf, going mountaineering and fly fishing.
