Professional profile

I am a Consultant Urological Surgeon with a special interest in minimally invasive surgery at Manchester Royal Infirmary. I returned to Manchester having successfully established a laparoscopic prostate and kidney service as a consultant in both Derby and Sherwood Forest NHS Trusts. Having graduated from London University I trained in Bath and the North-West of England before completing a 6 month fellowship in laparoscopic and robotic urological surgery at the internationally renowned centre in Bordeaux, France. Here I gained invaluable training all forms of urological minimally invasive surgery, in particular nerve sparing laparoscopic radical prostatectomy.

I am an enthusiastic teacher and is a member of the educational faculty of The European Institute of TeleSurgery at The University Hospital, Strasbourg, where I regularly teaches on their international courses. I am also involved in the training and mentoring of fellow UK consultants in minimally invasive surgery.
