Professional profile

I am a Consultant Plastic Surgeon with an NHS practice based at Whiston Hospital, the largest plastic surgery centre in the Northwest. My private practice encompasses all aspects of plastic surgery and hand surgery including cosmetic surgery of the face, body and breasts.

I graduated the University of Leeds in 1998 and have trained both locally in Manchester and Leeds and internationally in Perth, Australia. In 2011 I was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Plastic Surgery. I have a postgraduate degree (MD, University of Manchester) for medical research undertaken internationally (Sweden) in the field of peripheral nerve reconstruction.

I specialised in Cosmetic Surgery (UK National Interface Fellowship in Reconstructive Cosmetic Surgery) by working with plastic surgeons, maxillofacial surgeons and ophthalmologists, which enables me to provide you with a combined experience in all aspects of cosmetic breast, body, eyelid, ear and facial surgery.

I am of a new generation of certified hand specialists with cross-specialty expertise in both orthopaedic aspects (bone and joints) and plastic surgery aspects (nerves, tendons, skin and soft tissues) of managing hand and arm disorders. I have the highest level UK accreditation for hand surgery, having studied in the world-renowned Pulvertaft Hand Centre and subsequently sub-specialised in microvascular reconstruction. I was awarded British Diploma in Hand Surgery. As such, I am very experienced in treating the whole spectrum of hand conditions and injuries, including carpal tunnel syndrome, Dupuytren's contracture, trigger finger, ganglions and arthritis of the hand, as well as more complex, less common hand problems.
