MSc, MCSP, HCPC
I qualified in Physiotherapy from Manchester Metropolitan University in 2007 and have since worked across both NHS and private healthcare settings, gaining broad experience in all core areas of physiotherapy. In 2010, I specialised in musculoskeletal physiotherapy before completing an MSc in Advanced Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy at Manchester Metropolitan University in 2012.
I later combined my musculoskeletal role with leading a rheumatology physiotherapy team and completed specialist placements in both lower and upper limb orthopaedics. Alongside this, I achieved a postgraduate certificate in Lower Limb Trauma and Orthopaedics from the University of Salford in 2015.
I have a particular interest in ACL injury management and lower limb rehabilitation, including rehabilitation following ACL reconstruction surgery. I also have experience in strength and conditioning, developing rehabilitation and strength programmes for both members of the public and elite athletes.
From 2012 to 2020, I provided physiotherapy support to Manchester United Academy teams and also worked with the Professional Footballers’ Association (PFA). Working within elite sport has helped me develop expertise in sports injury management, pitch-side care and sport-specific rehabilitation.
At Spire Manchester Hospital, I have been involved in national research relating to hip impingement treatment as part of the UK FASHION trial, delivering Personalised Hip Therapy programmes within the study.
I also have a keen interest in extracorporeal shockwave therapy for chronic conditions such as plantar fasciitis and Achilles tendinopathy. This work has contributed to Spire Manchester being recognised as a specialist shockwave therapy centre.
Alongside my clinical work, I am Head of Department for Physiotherapy at Spire Manchester Hospital and support the national Spire Physiotherapy network.
