I am a Consultant Cardiologist with specialist expertise in the assessment and management of palpitations and cardiac arrhythmias.
I have a particular interest in the ablation of atrial fibrillation, using the latest available technologies. I pioneered the use of laser atrial fibrillation ablation technology in the UK and was also one of the first clinicians to adopt Pulsed Field Ablation (PFA).
I am recognised internationally for my work in cardiac electrophysiology and have delivered presentations and provided training to healthcare professionals across Europe, the USA and Japan. My clinical interests also include the management of arrhythmias in athletes, as well as lifestyle assessment to support overall cardiovascular health and wellbeing.
I graduated from Newcastle Medical School and completed my specialist cardiology training in the North East of England at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle, one of the UK’s largest and most experienced cardiology centres.
I established and developed the regional electrophysiology service for abnormal heart rhythms across Lancashire and South Cumbria, which has become one of the most efficient and rapidly expanding services of its kind in the UK.
I focus on providing individualised care, working closely with patients to understand their symptoms and develop tailored treatment plans aimed at improving long‑term heart rhythm control and quality of life.
