I have been a Consultant Rheumatologist at Manchester Royal Infirmary since 2007. I graduated from the University of Wales College of Medicine in Cardiff in 1995 with honours degree, I also obtained an intercalated degree in biochemistry. I then pursued general rheumatology training in the North West region and during the training I studied for an MSc in rheumatology. I obtained funding from the medical research council to complete a PhD studying the genetics of psoriatic arthritis.

I work full time and have two very lively boys who keep me busy after work. I am currently having my second chance in life to learn the violin with my boys for pleasure. My work keeps me very busy so it is difficult to have a hobby at present, but I love good food.
