Professional profile

I am a consultant endocrinologist at Hope Hospital, Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust and honorary senior lecturer in medicine and neuroscience at the University of Manchester. I graduated from the University of Manchester in 1992. Working in Manchester and London, I completed an MSc at King's College London and an MD thesis at the University of Manchester. My MD focus was the quality of life and immune function consequences of severe pituitary disease.

I now lead the thyroid, adolescent endocrine and chronic fatigue services at Hope Hospital. I also run a dedicated pituitary clinic and in my endocrine clinics I provide other specialist management including treatment of the menopause, other female and male reproductive and adrenal problems, weight management, osteoporosis, vitamin D deficiency and hyperparathyroidism.

I lead post-graduate medical training for diabetes, endocrinology and medical weight management at the Hope Hospital.

I have won a number of awards and invitations to lecture at international endocrine conferences and have published extensively in key endocrine journals.
