Specialises in
I am a Consultant General Surgeon in private practice at Spire Hartswood Hospital and Spire London East Hospital, with a consultant career spanning over a decade since my appointment in 2014.
My focus remains on delivering safe, effective, and individualised care by utilising the most up-to-date surgical methods, and I strive to work alongside my patients, involving them in discussions about their treatment and ensuring every aspect is personalised to fit their needs. I believe teamwork such as this is vital when it comes to delivering something as personal as healthcare.
My specialist skills encompass general surgery, colorectal surgery, proctology, and endoscopic procedures, including colonoscopy and gastroscopy.
In addition to my private practice, I serve as Clinical Director for General Surgery, Endoscopy, and Gastroenterology at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust. I am also the Lead of the Trust’s Academy of Surgery, where I oversee training and professional development for junior doctors.
I led the introduction of minimally invasive proctology services at the BHR NHS Trust for the management of haemorrhoids, anal fistula, and fissures, such as Video-Assisted Anal Fistula Treatment (VAAFT), Endoscopic Pilonidal Sinus Treatment (EPSiT), Transanal Haemorrhoidal Dearterialisation (THD), and the Rafaelo Procedure for haemorrhoids, all of which have significantly improved patient outcomes and recovery times, enabling patients to be discharged on the day of their surgery and allow for an earlier return to their normal lives and enhance their medical experience.
I have published articles and papers in various international surgical journals and conferences on the topics and experiences in general surgery, colorectal / proctology services, and have won first prize for an article presentation in an international conference in Shenzhen. In recognition of my dedication to people and organisational development, I have also been honoured with the HSJ Award.
On a more personal note, during my spare time, I enjoy following international cricket matches and spending time with my wife and young daughters, who mean everything to me.
