Mr Dipak Parmar

I completed my medical training at the United Medical & Dental Schools of Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospitals in London. I completed my basic surgical training at King’s College Hospital in neurosurgery and ophthalmology, following which I successfully passed the FRCOphth examination to become a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. I completed my higher surgical training in ophthalmology and a fellowship in uveitis at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London.

I further completed a clinical fellowship in cornea, external diseases and refractive surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, USA, from 2003-2005.

I was awarded the CSST (Cert. of Completion of Surgical Training) and specialist registration under the General Medical Council in Ophthalmology in 2003. I have spent over a decade in service as a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon to Whipps Cross University Hospital, Barts Health NHS Trust, from January 2006 to August 2017. I am currently in full time independent medical practice and also continue to offer my expertise to the NHS on a sessional basis.

As a result of my training and research, I have authored over 27 papers in peer reviewed journals and have written three book chapters. I am one of the few surgeons in the UK to have undergone state-of-the-art training in refractive surgery in a prestigious clinical fellowship programme in the USA.
