Specialises in
I am a Consultant Gynaecologist at Homerton Hospital; the hospital renowned for outstanding care in the latest CQC report. I have more than 20 years of experience in obstetrics and gynaecology gained from immensely heavy challenging workload in Egypt and the UK. I completed my specialty training in some of the busiest hospitals in Egypt to become a specialist in obstetrics, gynaecology and urogynaecology. I also complemented this with UK experience and training in benign gynaecology and urogynaecology in some of the busiest hospitals in the UK.
My broad combined training and experience enabled me in managing benign gynaecological conditions with specialisation in management of pelvic floor disorders including but not limited to prolapse, urinary incontinence and sexual dysfunction. I also manage fibroids via advanced endoscopic and abdominal surgery. In addition, I perform laparoscopic surgery for various indications including managing ovarian cysts, hysterectomy and mild to moderate endometriosis. I also manage menstrual disturbances and menopausal symptoms.
Over my years of experience, I performed more than 1,000 hysteroscopy procedures, hundreds of hysterectomies and thousands of open surgeries. I have also done hundreds of laparoscopic surgeries. Because of my expertise in urogynaecology, I have managed hundreds of vaginal surgeries and urinary incontinence procedures.
I am an Associate Lecturer in the school of medicine, Anglia Ruskin University. I am also responsible for delivering the urogynaecology teaching to the medical students at Queen Mary School of medicine.
I hold various educational roles including faculty member of the Basic Practical Skills Course at the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, in addition to other courses. I am responsible for delivering practical training to the junior doctors and midwives to ensure best care for our patients. I am also a Homerton Trust Appraiser of other doctors performance.
