I am a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist with over 27 years of clinical experience, currently practising at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust. I have held a substantive consultant post since November 2011 and am the Clinical Director for Women’s Health Services. I also lead the urogynaecology service at the Queen’s nationally accredited urogynaecology centre and am the lead for Robotic Gynaecology at BHR.

My specialist interests lie in urogynaecology, minimally invasive and robotic surgery. I offer a comprehensive range of treatments for urinary incontinence, overactive bladder and pelvic organ prolapse, including non-mesh surgical techniques, urethral bulking injections, intravesical botox therapy and complex vaginal repairs. I have expertise in the management of recurrent prolapse and perineal birth injuries.

I am a trained and certified robotic surgeon, with experience in performing advanced procedures using the da Vinci Xi surgical platform. I am also one of the few gynaecological surgeons in the United Kingdom with expertise in robotic urogynaecological surgery. I am a certified trainer for doctors undertaking the RCOG Special Interest Training module (SITM) in Robotic Surgery.

I hold multiple academic and professional qualifications, including FRCOG, MD, DNB, DFFP and an MCh in Minimally Invasive and Robotic Surgery, awarded with Distinction from Anglia Ruskin University. In 2004, I was awarded the MRCOG Gold Medal by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists for attaining the highest national score in the examination. I am currently undertaking an Executive Masters in Medical Leadership from City-St George’s university, London.

In my leadership capacity, I have been instrumental in developing and enhancing clinical services, introducing innovative models of care such as robotic surgery programmes, ambulatory urogynaecology services and superclinic pathways. I have overseen numerous successful projects aimed at reducing elective backlogs and improving surgical training, which have been recognised by regional and national bodies.

In addition to my clinical and managerial roles, I am actively engaged in postgraduate education and professional development. I am a Regional Preceptor for Urogynaecology and Vaginal Surgery training and is an MRCOG Part 3 examiner. My academic contributions include invited talks, oral presentations at national and international conferences, and publications in high-impact journals.

I am known for my thorough, compassionate approach and commitment to individualised care. I work in close partnership with my patients, ensuring they are fully informed and supported in making the right decisions for their health. This has been recognised by being awarded an Outstanding Patient Experience award in 2025 from Doctify.
