I graduated from Medical University of Gdansk, before completing a three year PhD programme in surgery and human genetics of hereditary breast/ovarian cancer syndromes at Gdansk and Leiden University Medical Centre, being awarded a prestigious Marie Currie PhD fellowship. This led to the award of a PhD degree for my thesis and reviewers’ distinction.
I then undertook all postgraduate training in surgery and plastic surgery in the UK spending 12 years in general and plastic surgery in London, Birmingham, Dundee and Edinburgh followed by fellowships in oncoplastic breast reconstruction, advanced microsurgical breast reconstruction and breast aesthetics / body contouring in Edinburgh Breast Unit, Chelmsford and Canada.
In the private sector, my interests are fairly similar and include cosmetic and reconstructive breast surgery, body contouring, lipomodelling, skin cancer and reconstruction, scar management, labiaplasty etc.
Currently I am appointed as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon in Edinburgh working mainly at St John’s Hospital and Edinburgh Breast Unit.
In my NHS practice, my special interests include oncoplastic breast reconstruction including microsurgical reconstruction, revisional breast surgery, symmetrising surgery following breast cancer treatment, revision surgery on the breast, nipple reconstruction, non-melanoma skin cancer and reconstruction and plastic surgery trauma.

Personal profile
Outside medicine, I have a great passion for art. In fact, I would like to consider myself an amateur artist who enjoys drawing and painting. On occasions, I play the guitar (also as an amateur) and believe in mindfulness and healthy lifestyle. I am married and we have two daughters.
