I am a consultant orthopaedic surgeon based at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh where I exclusively treat patients with hip and knee problems.
My expertise is in hip and knee replacement surgery including computer assisted surgery, robotic assisted surgery and revision surgery. I have a special interest in young adult knee arthritis and I undertake computer assisted knee realignment surgery in younger and more active patients trying to avoid a joint replacement. I also undertake knee arthroscopy for soft tissue problems around the knee such as meniscal tears.
My orthopaedic training was undertaken in Edinburgh before moving to Sydney, Australia for sub-specialist fellowship training in joint replacement surgery, lower limb realignment surgery and sports knee surgery.
