I graduated from Mosul University, Iraq in 1989. I gained broad experience in surgical specialities overseas and then basic surgical training at Kings College, London.
I was a research fellow for one year, studying bladder cancer, at Imperial College School of Medicine, University of London and achieved a Masters degree in Surgical Sciences (MSc) in 2000. I completed my urology training in East Scotland with subspecialisation in female and reconstructive urology.
I took up my current post as Consultant Urological Surgeon in January 2008. I am a reviewer in the Cochrane Collaboration/Incontinence group and have published systematic reviews and meta-analyses on urinary incontinence.
