Dr Sheena Raja
BMedSci (Hons) BMBS MRCGP
I am a practising General Practitioner in Edinburgh and the Lothians, with over 10 years of experience as a doctor.
I graduated with both an honours degree in intercalated Bachelor of Medical Sciences, as well as a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Nottingham. I achieved membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners in 2016.
My background includes working as a GP in both Scotland and England, as well as gaining additional experience in Dubai. More recently, I have undertaken a GP role within the National Covid Response Team, managing covid-related concerns at their presentation and long-term consequences.
As a general practitioner, I have an interest in all aspects of medicine, and have also undertaken a number of post-graduate jobs including Psychiatry, Orthopaedics, Paediatrics and Cardiology at highly specialised units, which has increased my breadth of experience.
I value the longer appointment times we have with patients at Spire, as this allows for a detailed discussion regarding the background of your underlying symptoms and concerns, so that we can establish a thorough management and treatment plan together. Having worked in Edinburgh for some years, I am familiar with local services available and can refer you to the most appropriate specialist for further management where needed.
I believe in putting my patient’s health, welfare and concerns at the forefront of my practice and treat patients in a manner I would want my family to be treated. I have a particular interest in mental health and well-being and alongside my clinical skills, I am always striving to provide compassionate and high-quality care to my patients.
