Dr Scott McKie

Radiologist

MB ChB, BSc, MSc, MRCS, FRCR

Specialises in

I am a consultant musculoskeletal radiologist with a special interest in sports injuries and treatment. I am an ex-orthopaedic surgeon and I am fellowship trained in musculoskeletal and sports radiology.

My substantive NHS position is in Fife, and I also work for the Edinburgh based teleradiology business Experteye for whom I report musculoskeletal MRI. I have a personal private referral base which includes many of the local Scottish premiership football clubs, sports clubs and specialised sports physiotherapists.

My main interests are imaging with MRI and Ultrasound, and general imaging in musculoskeletal conditions. I have a particular interest in image guided treatment of sports injuries, and perform diagnostic and therapeutic ultrasound guided injections (tennis elbow, Achilles tendinosis, trochanteric bursitis, shoulder impingement and calcification, morton's neuroma) with excellent results.

Other areas of imaging interest include back pain, including image guided facet joint and epidural injections, the sportsman groin, hernia ultrasound, and the early diagnosis of rheumatological conditions with MRI and Ultrasound.

I have a keen interest in medicolegal issues and can arrange appropriate investigations and radiological opinion. I am happy to give advice on any musculoskeletal condition.
