Dr Faye Rodger
MBChB, BSc, MD, MRCOG
I have a special interest in Reproductive Medicine, including the assessment and treatment of couples with infertility and recurrent miscarriage. I also treat women with menopause problems, both with conventional HRT and also with non-hormonal alternatives. I offer both medical and surgical treatment for women with menstrual problems and pre-menstrual syndrome.
After qualifying from Edinburgh University Medical School in 1992 I chose a career in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and was awarded a prestigious MRC Clinical Fellowship. After completing my MD I went on to complete my specialist training in South East Scotland, and qualified with subspecialisation in Reproductive Medicine in 2007. I've been a consultant with NHS Borders where I am head of service for Gynaecology, since then. I also work at the Edinburgh Centre for Reproductive Medicine and Endocrinology at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.
I provide a sympathetic and constructive approach for women with gynaecological problems, and work in a holistic and caring manner. I appreciate how difficult some women find gynaecology appointments and try and make this as smooth a journey as possible for them.
I am also an accredited colposcopist, assessing and treating women with abnormal smear results. I perform gynaecology ultrasound scans, allowing prompt diagnosis and treatment of gynae symptoms.
I do not offer consultations to women who are pregnant or those with urogynaecology problems.
