Virtual consultations:
I graduated from the University of Birmingham in 2011. I completed my foundation training at various hospitals throughout the West Midlands before moving to Edinburgh for GP training. The training was based around the Borders, Midlothian and East Lothian. I worked in general medicine and surgery posts, as well as child psychiatry, general psychiatry, and Obstetrics and gynaecology.
I worked in two different GP Practices during the training and particularly relished being a member of a close-knit team with a shared commitment, striving to provide excellent quality and continuity of care. During my training I did the diploma of the royal college of Obstetrics and Gynaecologists.
In 2019 I was Winner of the Royal College of GPs South East of Scotland quality improvement award for a project looking at implementing a system to improve recognition and management of patients at risk of diabetes. Since completing GP training, I have been doing locum GP work in East Lothian practices and regular sessions with NHS Lothian unscheduled GP service (NHS24).
I have also been working with the ‘Care When It Counts’ service in East Lothian and been particularly involved in the training and teaching of nurse practitioners and Physician Assistants.
