I recently had a Bupa Wellness appointment at Spire Cheshire Hospital. It was a very thorough examination and the doctor noticed a breast lump. No woman wants to hear this as I have a history of breast cancer in my family, and they also found a suspect melanoma during my examination.
They referred me swiftly to see Dr Jennifer Yell, Consultant Dermatologist for the skin concern and Mr Ansar Farooq, Consultant Breast Surgeon in the ‘One stop breast clinic’ for the lump. My appointment came through very quickly and on 2 May I had a mammogram and an ultrasound scan.
Unfortunately it turned out to be a solid lump, but I was looked after extremely well with kindness and sensitivity by the nurses. The efficiency of service was absolutely amazing and I came in the next day for a biopsy which Dr Furhan Razzaq, Consultant Radiologist performed and he was brilliant.
I am now seeing Dr Jennifer Yell, Consultant Dermatologist, who has an astounding knowledge and experience in dermatology. If my first appointment was anything to go by then I know I’m in the safest hands at Spire Cheshire Hospital. Everyone I have come into contact with from receptionists to the consultants have been very professional and caring. Although my journey is not yet over, I just wanted to say thank you very much to everyone involved in it.
