"I enjoy working at the Spire because every day offers the chance to make a meaningful difference in someone’s vision and quality of life. The supportive team, advanced technology, and patient-centred."
I have worked in ophthalmology for over 10 years and have a deep understanding of the patient pathway. I initially began my career as an optical assistant from the age of 16 to 24 while studying medicine at Imperial College London, one of the world’s leading universities. During this time, I also served as an Honorary Research Fellow at Moorfields Eye Hospital. I completed my medical school elective at the Singapore National Eye Centre under the mentorship of Professor Mehta.
Throughout my training, I undertook additional placements to enhance my management of ocular hypertension and early glaucoma, and I completed a corneal and refractive surgery fellowship at Manchester Royal Eye Hospital. I currently work as a Corneal Consultant at the Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust and as a General Ophthalmology Consultant at the East Cheshire NHS Trust. This combination of roles enables me to deliver high-quality consultations and treatment for a wide range of ophthalmic conditions.
I specialise in general ophthalmology with a specific interest in cornea and refractive surgery.
To date, I have performed more than 2,500 ophthalmic procedures over the course of my career.
Currently I am a Clinical Director for Newmedica Manchester West. I also work as a Consultant at both Mid Yorkshire NHS Teaching Trust and East Cheshire NHS Trust.

I am a well trained consultant ophthalmologist with a strong professional and personal base in the Northwest, having been born and brought up in Manchester and completing most of my ophthalmology training in the region. I have settled here with my wife and our young family — our five-year-old daughter and six-month-old son — and am fortunate to have a close network of family and friends nearby. Outside of work, I enjoy running, cycling and walking, having completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge several times and recently climbed Ben Nevis.
