I work as a Consultant Upper Gastrointestinal at the Darent Valley Hospital Dartford and Queen Mary Hospital in Sidcup. I am currently the clinical lead for laparoscopic UGI surgery and pancreatitis, further expanding the service to receive referrals from adjacent trusts.
I was appointed at the hospital as an Upper GI Surgeon in 2015 and was responsible for introducing a new service in the hospital offering complex gallbladder surgery including laparoscopic bile duct exploration, anti-reflux surgery for gastro-oesophageal reflux disease and complex hiatal hernia repair.
I am a dedicated keyhole specialist and perform the following procedures: laparoscopic gallbladder surgery and bile duct exploration, hiatus hernia and reflux disease, laparoscopic hernia repair, keyhole abdominal and groin hernia repairs, recurrent hernia repair, and gastroscopy and colonoscopy.
I am on the MAC Committee at North Downs Hospital as Lead for Surgery.
I pursue my research interests as an audit lead in the surgical department and have published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at national and international meetings. I am passionate about teaching and am the lead of surgical simulation, designing and conducting various courses.
