I am a Consultant General Surgeon at Basildon and Thurrock University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, am the lead surgeon for endocrine surgery at Basildon Hospital, and perform a large number of thyroid and parathyroid operations. I have a special interest in performing laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery for groin hernias and I am actively involved in training other consultant surgeons and in performing extraperitoneal hernia repair. I am also experienced in performing laparoscopic gallbladder surgery (cholecystectomy) and have been performing day case laparoscopic cholecystectomy since 1999. I also perform complex vascular surgical procedures such as carotid artery endarterectomy, and abdominal aortic aneurysm repair. For varicose veins I offer surgical treatment.
I have been performing day case (ambulatory) thyroid and parathyroid operations since 2001. My results have been presented at various national and international congresses of ambulatory and endocrine surgery in the UK, Europe and the USA including at the World Congress of Ambulatory Surgery in Boston.
