I am an experienced Laparoscopic Upper GI and General Surgeon with over 20 years experience. I perform elective and emergency benign upper GI and general surgical procedures. I have performed more than 3,000 keyhole gallbladder surgery and more than 3,000 keyhole groin hernia surgeries within my career.
I specialise in upper gastrointestinal surgery which involves gallbladder and stomach surgery. With extensive experience in both laparoscopic and open hernia repair surgery (including hiatus hernia), patients are more satisfied with the outcomes following keyhole surgery. Treatments I offer include; bile duct surgery, antireflux surgery, para-oesophageal and gastric volvulus surgery, and achalasia surgery.
I have a patient-centred approach to patient care, including providing audio-visual aides in my clinics to help in decision making.
Within my NHS practice, I work at Southend and Broomfield Hospitals. I have undergone surgical training in various institutes in Kent, Surrey and London.
After working to acquire a Masters in Surgical Practice from the University of Kent, I have been working as an Upper GI and general surgical consultant since 2017 before moving to the Mid and South Essex NHS trust.
In addition to my clinical work, I am involved with formal and informal teaching of junior doctors and medical students from Kent and Medway and Essex.
I am also the clinical lead for the High Volume Low complexity surgery at Broomfield Hospital and the clinical lead in National Emergency Laparotomy Audit at Broomfield Hospital.
